A Trip to the 'First Coast'

Welcome to Saint Augustine, Florida - the oldest city on the North American continent - which means there is WAY TOO MUCH history for this historophile to share, especially in one blog post!  Just sit back, relax, and enjoy a few photos from last year's visit to the nation's "First Coast."

Flagler College - the building originally opened in 1887 as the Ponce de León Hotel, built by New York entrepreneur and cofounder of Standard Oil Henry Flagler.

Glass sculpture in the backyard of one of the many shops along St. George Street.

Columns of the Casa Monica Hotel.

It's not Florida unless there are palm trees!

Saint Augustine Lighthouse - one of the MANY haunted locales of this historic town.

Pier at Saint Augustine Beach.

Another of Saint Augustine's storied and haunted locations: the Castillo de San Marcos.

One last shot of Castillo de San Marcos.
